作为“实践”的意义：“法国理论”的遗产

课程简介

       该系列讲座由三部分组成，将对法国理论的基本原则和主张进行重新审视。

       德里达在《论文字学》（1967）一书中宣称：“文本之外无一物。”对此，我们将提出一个批判性的问题：对于“意义”-“符号”、“文本”、“文字学”、“形象”、“知识型”等的理论构想，可否用弗洛伊德式的术语解释为一种“移置”的戏剧：一种对法国在二战期间及以后所遭受的历史性创伤的逃离？

       我们所要谈论的另一项重要议题是关于 “接受史”问题：二战后的知识分子，眺望莱茵河彼岸，找到了尼采和海德格尔的学说，并以它们来更新法国哲学。与此同时，二战以后的德国，尼采和海德格尔的哲学思想似乎因与法西斯主义的联系而不被重视，为何他们的思想在法国被重新发现并享有盛名？

       我们将通过重新审视包括米歇尔•福柯、雅克•德里达以及吉奥乔•阿甘本在内的三位重要思想家的作品，来处理这些议题和关注点。其中所要关注的核心问题是，他们的学说对文学理论领域产生过哪些深刻影响？本次课程分三次，依次为：

1. “雅克•德里达和意义的主权性问题”

2. “米歇尔•福柯：从人文科学的考古学到权力的微观物理学”

3. “吉奥乔•阿甘本：后政治学、神圣人和赤裸生命”

Signification as “Practice”:

The Legacy of “French Theory”Introduction to the course：

This three-part lecture series re-examines the basic elements and claims of French Theory.

In Of Grammatology (1967), Jacques Derrida famously claimed that “there is nothing outside of the text.” One of the critical questions we will pose is: can the theoretical preoccupation with “signification” – the “sign,” the “text,” “grammatology,” “figuration,” the “episteme,” and so forth – be construed, in Freudian in terms, as a drama of “displacement”: as an escape from a series of historical traumas that France had suffered during and after World War II?

Another important theme we will treat concerns a question of “reception history: why is it that, following World War II, French intellectuals looked across the Rhine, to the doctrines of Nietzsche and Heidegger, in order to rejuvenate French philosophy? Why was it that, at a point when, in Germany, the philosophies of Nietzsche and Heidegger seemed compromised by their association with fascism, they were rediscovered and celebrated in France?

We will approach these themes and concerns by reviewing the work of three leading thinkers: Michiel Foucault, Jacques Derrida, and Giorgio Agamben. One of our central concerns will be the impact that their doctrines have had on the field of literary theory.

师资介绍

理查德•沃林（Richard Wolin）国际著名左翼学者，纽约市立大学（CUNY）研究生院历史和比较文学杰出教授。早年曾师从哈贝马斯，是美国政治思想史家、批判理论的代表人物。

研究方向及主要成果：

       主要从事尼采、海德格尔、本雅明与阿多诺等人的思想研究，并持续关注当代知识分子与政治之间的关系，也是当代国际毛主义研究领域的重要学者。

代表著作有：

• 《存在的政治：海德格尔的政治思想》（1980，2000中文版）

• 《瓦尔特•本雅明：救赎美学》（1983，2007中文版）

• 2015年：发表的《海德格尔黑皮书：国家社会主义，反犹太主义与历史》荣获《当代历史季刊》论文奖；

• 1992-1993年：荣获美国的德国马歇尔研究基金；

• 1990-1991年：荣获国家人文基金会大学教师基金；

• 1988-1989年：荣获法兰克福歌德大学哲学系亚历山大•冯•洪堡基金会研究基金。
